Hello Sisters!
I don't which is my favorite season, fall or spring? I guess it would be fall because that reminds me of the constant heat and discomfort of summer is just about through (we have no insulation and therefore have no a/c).
Spring invites me to get out the shovel, start seedlings, and implement a new gardening idea. Spring also creates in us girls an itch to re-decorate the home, or at least move furniture around. Spring is also a time where I beg hubby to loosen up on the pocket book so that us girls can buy material, lace, ribbon, and anything at our nearest craft and fabric store.
I decided to do a "front-yard" garden this year. I got out the ol' shovel and removed the grass in a 2 foot by 35 foot plot. I planted that about 2 weeks ago and have since made a small 4 foot by 4 foot flower garden for the girls, because as you can guess, seeing Mom out there having so much fun, they too get the gardening itch!
We have a huge Ficus tree which grows about 2 feet from our east facing dining room window. From the kitchen and dining room, if you look out the window in an eastwardly direction you not only see the beautiful garden, but under the Ficus I have a porch swing, some big comfy chairs, some pillows and hopefully soon a coffee table.
I'm not really one to have a garden in my front yard because I enjoy the privacy of my own backyard. I LIKE to work in the yard with no bra under my t-shirt and sporting my greasy hair, no once can see me and my kids don't mind a bit. I can't do that in the front yard! But, I have to say that since I've been in the front yard I sure have been talking to more neighbors, so I have been praying for the right people at the right time. And it's not even about me "preaching" to them, many times I am encouraged by my neighbors of other religions. I just want to share His love, it's ALL ABOUT JESUS, not about us.
This week we are off "school" and doing lots of relaxing, reading and we are working on a Passover drama which we will have at the end of the week to celebrate Passover. When we talk about Passover we talk about the Passover and how it was celebrated years ago and how Jesus as Messiah fits into the picture.
If your interested a good web site with lots of info on Passover is heartofwisdom.com
Blessings,
Shannon
